Classes & Events

We will spend time on barre work, center combinations, and movements that travel across the floor. Students will continue to progress in their skills and quality of execution. Attire—Girls: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Boys: Black shorts or pants, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes. 16 week class. Note: Dance Showcase will be on Saturday, June 14th. Join Illustrator Darcy May for a 16 class series for aspiring student artists focusing on drawing and sketching. Classes are student-driven and will include learning about drawing materials and tools, observation and noticing, sketching, drawing, shading, lighting, and life-drawing alternating with imaginative fairytale/fantasy drawing and illustrating. New and returning students welcome! Materials fee included. Minimum 6 students required for class. Taught by Darcy May

(Previously titled Beginner Jazz) For ages 8 and up, this 16 week class includes ballet and strength techniques, combined with fun and energetic dance steps. We will stretch, learn across-the-floor progressions and choreographed combinations, and have fun! Preferred attire: Leotards & tights (or leggings & tank tops) with jazz shoes. Taught by Lauren Herrington

(Previously titled Continuing Jazz) For returning students who have jazz experience (new students MUST receive instructor approval to sign up). This 16 week class focuses on more advanced jazz positions and combinations, and will include deep stretching and across the floor progressions. We will learn new choreography, combining foundational jazz techniques with fun and upbeat music! Preferred attire: Leotards & tights (or leggings & tank tops) with jazz shoes. Minimum 6 students required for class. Note: Dance Showcase will be on Saturday, June 14th. Taught by Lauren Herrington

This 16 week class is for returning drawing students who have already completed at least three years of Drawing with Darcy. We will continue with our student-driven model to build upon the skills we have already learned, and will stick with an alternating schedule of imaginative and life-drawing, but will move on to more complex subjects. Materials fee included. Minimum 6 students required for class. Taught by Darcy May
