Classes & Events

With Isabella Knecht
Age 7 - Adult, this class will introduce students to Irish step dance. Students will continue to learn soft shoe beginner reel and jig steps, in addition to elements of figure dances. (New students should wait until next September to sign up unless they receive permission from the instructor. Please contact Hubbard Hall to inquire further.)

With Rachel Sargood
This class is for students who have completed Beginner Irish Step Dance at HH, or have 1 or 2 years Irish step dance experience. Dancers will continue to review beginner jig steps, will learn more reel steps in the beginner catalog, as well as working on an original reel choreography.

With Rachel Sargood
This class is for students who have completed both Beginner Irish Step Dance and Advanced Beginner Irish Step Dance, or have 2-3 years Irish step dance experience. Dancers will join the previous class for an original reel choreography, as well as continuing to review their jigs while working toward more advanced reel steps.

This is a class for adults who are continuing to learn the basics of Irish soft-shoe step dancing. The first half hour will continue learning reel steps along with learning the two hand reel dance. The final half hour will be combined with the intermediate class and learn the high cauled cap, a more complex figure dance.

This class is for students who have completed Intermediate Level 1&2 Irish Dance at HH, or have 3 or 4 years Irish step dance experience. Dancers will learn the High Cauled Cap (an 8-Hand-Reel) and will continue hard-shoe dancing, learning the Beginner Treble Jig.

With Rachel Sargood
Advanced Irish dancers with several years of experience will learn St Patrick's Day (a traditional hard-shoe set dance/jig) as well as the Slip Jig.
