Beacon Feed Dance Studio (Yellow building)
Improve your balance with simple standing movements which increase ankle, knee, and hip joint stability; enhance body awareness; and strengthen lower limb and core muscles. Includes seated foot and ankle articulations and foot massage. Holding the ballet barre for support (optional throughout class) builds confidence during more challenging balances and facilitates ease of movement. Dynamic moves, such as walking in various directions, stimulate proprioception and the ability to balance in varied conditions, thereby reducing the risk of falls.
Class is easy to follow. If anyone has movement limitations, suggestions for alternative moves are given. Class progresses from easiest to more challenging moves. Students are encouraged to move at their own comfort level and given modifications/options throughout class.
