Join illustrator Darcy May for a three-week, twice-weekly old-fashioned sketchbook class, with each class lasting 1.5 hours. Drawers ages 9-adult will take short walks in the Hubbard Hall vicinity to fill a sketchbook with the interior architectural and natural surroundings of winter evenings in Cambridge, NY. Students will experiment with different traditional drawing tools, and will learn about things like perspective, shading, organic subjects, light and shadow, still lifes, gesture drawing, town history, and handwritten captions, within a sketchbook format. Critique and discussion will occasionally follow. No experience necessary. Those that sign up for the full term will receive a sketchbook. Drop-ins may purchase a sketchbook but other materials will be supplied.
